N2  - Abstract The frequency of the mains electricity supply is very important in many industrial 
and commercial applications. This paper describes the design of a microcontroller based 
system for measuring the mains frequency accurately. The measured frequency is displayed 
on an LCD, and in addition the measured data is sent to a PC continuously for timestamped 
logging and offline analysis
